Nephropathology is a highly specialized field of Surgical Pathology that deals with the diagnosis. The diagnosis and interpretation of kidney biopsies is Nephropathology. Disease processes seen in patient’s native kidneys as well as those patients who have received transplanted kidneys. A doctor recommends a biopsy when an initial test results an area of tissue in the body isn't normal. Area of abnormal tissue is called as lesion, a tumor, or a mass. An examination of tissue removed from a living body to discover the presence, cause of a disease is biopsy.
